BeeClean is an environmentally conscious, Licensed, Insured and Professional cleaning service. Specializing in routine Home Cleanings, All Home Turn Overs, Deep Cleaning, post Construction vacant Homes, and Commercial Office cleanings.

I was in a career that I hated, doing a job that was sucking the life out of me. I wanted out of the job so badly and was really trying to think of ways to get out but none of it seems sustainable. In fact I had even convinced myself to stay in it for a couple more years just hang on, keep making the money, keep saving money and then we’ll get out. I believe it was that desire and intention in me that allowed me to not think twice about doing a task I was asked to do that made me lose my job. 

In that moment, those words came out of my bosses mouth that I was being let go, I was filled with happiness and hope. In the past that would’ve been immediate panic, despair and fear, but not that day. I actually thanked him. He had released me from prison. My own prison that I built, and didn’t know until he threw the door wide open. 

I wish I could say that it remained that joyous, it did not. I spent the next year, trying to find a job, or as I would tell myself, starting a new career. I did start two positions both ended quickly. But I think I applied to every business in the Phoenix metropolitan area, was even told I was underqualified for the produce section. Not only could I not get a job, I couldn’t even get an interview. The handful of interviews that I did get, I actually got the job and in some way every one of those jobs ghosted me afterwards. I never heard from them again and I never started a position. I couldn’t make money and the savings was gone. 

My two grown sons saved me, we all rented a house together, and they footed that bill until I could help again. And then my oldest son gave me an opportunity. His employer was looking for a new housekeeping service. He explained it to me, and what it would require to become their service provider. I created a cleaning business, BeeClean Pro Services. 

My grandmother was a great teacher, and I never knew that all the chores that she gave me would one day save me. I started in housekeeping when I started working in my teens, to support myself. It’s how I managed to go from housekeeping at a hotel to the front desk. From the front desk, through college and teen motherhood, to managing a car rental store at 23, all the way into mortgages at 26. And now my very own business at 43. I did take a few cleaning courses in all fairness, to really educate myself on disinfecting versus sanitizing. I also needed to learn some of the terminology that was used in cleaning because I would call it a fridge liner and it’s actually called a gasket. 

I also had never really done this before I had started my own online art gallery. My very dear and best friend from Brave the Rise, LLC, stepped in. Brandis got my LLC, my EIN, my TPT, my DBA, told me what to do. Sent me the emails, checklists and hours on the phone but I had never done it. So when it came time for BeeClean, of course I called her. 

While she was building my business with the nuts and bolts, I was making it pretty and created the logo from some artwork I had done. But I still needed funds for supplies, LLC, Insurance, vendor services… this is where my family saves me. My dearest cousin Shannon and my big sister and her husband Brandy and Brett swooped in to save the day. 

I also was running into issues with my online art gallery, Art in a Moment, of how to get Art in front of more people and the two ideas just kind of married themselves. With every new cleaning, I would leave a welcome home gift and original piece of art on canvas pre-framed, that said welcome home.

And BeeClean Pro Services was born, May 5th. I started cleaning vacant Apartments and realized they don’t pay very quickly, which is not helping the money situation. How was I supposed to get more clients? What do I do to get more clients? Networking.

Huge problem , even in my previous careers speaking in front of a lot of people was not something I could do. It’s why I became a pipeline manager in mortgages, instead of a loan officer. I’m not good at networking. But it didn’t matter that I wasn’t good at it and that I had a massive fear about it. This was my business. No one was gonna do it for me and I was never gonna grow if it didn’t get done. 

So I went, and I was terrible, a ball of nerves standing in front of a room with the strangers, stuttering and tripping all over myself. But I kept going. And I kept practicing. And eventually, it got a little easier. I still hate doing it. I’m still not fully comfortable doing it, but I can do it. 

I met a lot of incredible people. Many other business owners. I built really good relationships and got a nice Referral base from doing that. I took every job, I showed up on time and I did the best I could; I learned as I went. I absolutely made mistakes, in the beginning, I didn’t do the best job, I just didn’t know what I didn’t know. 

But that’s how you really start. You just go. You’re not ready. You’re not prepared. You don’t know, it’s not glamorous. It’s hard work. It’s swallowing your pride. It’s embarrassing yourself and doing that on repeat. 

Until it just becomes normal and the mistakes aren’t happening anymore, you know things that you didn’t know before and one day you just realize, oh this isn’t at all, as hard ,as I thought it was. This is it, I just have to talk to these people, I just have to be me. I just have to clean a house. I just have to show up. I can do that. Always lead with integrity, be authentically yourself and the right connections will come. It isn’t easy but it isn’t hard and it’s absolutely worth it.
